This chapter underscores the reality behind peoples’ struggle. Exodus forms part of the books of laws in the Holy Bible, and the Torah of the Jews where God led the Israelites out of Egypt through Moses, which you can also see in the Holy Qur’an. We shall determine major forces in life that make men suffer, and even at some extent, inflict death to one another-both directly and indirectly.
As much as we already know the story of the Book Exodus as it is expressed in various approaches and illustrated in different levels of academia, however, I would like to tackle it in a different light. As we all know, Exodus is about movement of people towards a place where it is more conducive to anything other than where they originally were. Otherwise, there would not be anymore movement. This makes sense because if we are content, blessed with gracious living, then, there is no point of moving away or turning away.
Asking myself again, why is there still suffering and struggle in life if people were really brought to the “Promised Land?” First, I must take this opportunity to thank God and commend the positive outcome of the Council of Trent in 1554 for the Vulgate and the Council of Hippo in 393 A.D http://members.fortunecity.com/bstanley/bibhist.htm . Through which, we have acquired full access to the knowledge from inspired documentations of both the Old Testament and the New Testament.
In my own personal view, I can say that the Holy Spirit inspires any argument as long as it upholds vigilance to attain greater peace, and order, and love for one another-and the interplay of faith, and faith in action-in our daily lives. In the advent of conflicting beliefs, however, on books, which the Jewish Canon and the Protestant Canon would each like to uphold, the Iron Scepter would show the divine purpose of such unrest and division.

There are variety of ways people everywhere experience differences in beliefs and practices in worship which affect the mode of conduct, reasoning, and participation in a given community-may it be locally or the global community, as a whole. The general influences-the conduct and reasoning within us, greatly shape the outcome of unity and harmony. All these years we have acknowledged the vital role of church and government in making peoples’ lives better. These are institutions consisting of people who occupy public offices and church leaders who give counsel. But there is one institution though within us, that not only is unseen but each and every one has--the soul.
I always liken the soul to a cup, containing and housing the Holy Spirit, which control our conscience. The more spiritually mature-the more “cup-filled” we are, and vise versa. Basically, our conscience is always in pursuit of what we aspire for-happiness, comfort, and survival-to say the least. Having said that, this unseen cup within us is our basic common denominator.
If the basic common denominator were vague and divisive there would never be fruitful accord at the grassroots level of living. And we know for a fact, importantly, that the spirit within us propels us in our daily living. Our conscience responds to the happiness, comfort, and survival we feel psychologically and emotionally. Either we enjoy our place on earth or be vigilant and resourceful to attain happiness and comfort in order to survive. By the grace of God, this cup fills up in time and it is how we live our lives that make our cup spirit-filled. Hence, evolving mankind through the ages.

We have discussed in the previous paragraph the potency of having common attributes toward a more amicable community and how the spirit within, is the most effective way to have unity, enjoy peace and experience true love among men. Varied differences in geographic, socio-cultural and demographic varieties affect the human race as to how an individual unit is given distinction and identified among the rest.
Also, on the other hand, there are a number of religious groups, whereby, even from within sprout diversity. In Christianity, there is Catholicism, Protestantism, and Orthodox, etc, etc. The Islam faith on the other hand, has their firm tenet as one brother under the Islam faith. However, questionable solidarity among Muslims seem a bit more prominent also, since not all condone with acts of terrorism-who claim holiness in viciousness. The Jewish faith also, there is the Conservative and the Reformist.

Differences is particularly more personally pronounced and distinct when it comes to religion. But no matter how people vary in certain aspects, it does not change the individual in belonging to the one, same human race.
Exodus is all about a self-fulfilling, sweet journey towards the Promised Land http://bible.cc/revelation/21-3.htm (Revelation 21:3) , http://quran.com/7/40-46 (Surah VII 40) http://bible.cc/exodus/19-5.htm (Exodus 19:5);. The embodiment of the churches’ precepts, and governments’ policies are time-honored inviolable institutions founded in holiness, peace, order, and pleasant conscience for the greater sanctity of all. No matter how harsh, raw, and cold verdicts may have been in the primitive age or even now, the grace of God have made men to refine its ways towards perfection.
It is written that men have been vested to subdue and take control of all God’s creation http://niv.scripturetext.com/genesis/1-28.htm (Genesis 1:28-29; Psalm 8:6) http://bible.cc/psalms/8-6.htm. And for as long as people are in contention around the world and still suffer from poverty, war, death from hunger and abuse, we still are in the journey called, Exodus. I am sure we would definitely have a better world because our God is the God of all, and not just a God for a few people or nation.
If we talk of factors influencing hardships and struggles, I have asked myself, how come some people acquire wealth and enjoy convenience at huge proportions, yet find people dying in poverty, at such a time as this “computer age”, where acquisition of natural resources, manufacturing of goods, complex data processing-for statistics, accounting computations, and the knowledge and discipline in reacquiring the production cycle is as “voluntary” as breathing air. The answer is in the utmost recesses of our inner sanctum, that people are not united and aligned with spiritual realities.
Often times, people detach reality from spirituality, and vise-versa, which I think is preposterous. Which is why I prefer using the term “SPIRITUAL REALITIES” so much.

Speaking of reality, life’s struggle is not a like in years past, where major inventions still had to take place to gain needed comfort in living-like electricity, machinery for manufacturing, etc, to name a few. Now, more than ever, people are in the state of amassing wealth and comfort at others expense. Often times I mention to friends during fellowships that this age is where everything could be easily acquired and be produced-from sources of energy to machineries to making industrial products and goods that men manufacture and produce-services we learn-we refine and we render.
All the goods and services which people need, people could already provide. But why do we still see people suffering and struggling to survive? Old selfish cliché such as," lack of education, skills, and discipline" to completely detach oneself from the stigma, are unacceptable excuses. This is the start of the book where bridging the gap of spiritual truth and reality is emphasized and discussed.

Diversity in religion is a reality as well as different technicalities of each form of governments. I am sure you have gone across a situation or two, or even more, where discussion about religion ends up in a long and endless debate. This happens more often than not. It is how innately important or natural, religion is, that history even shows religious wars have occurred during the Dark Ages.
Spirituality is compellingly potent as it co-exist among diverse people and graciously intrinsic, in one hand. If it were not valuable, governments would not give Saturdays and Sundays as weekends for people to observe worship services. If it were not significant, people would not have the drive and have the motivation to talk about it intensely, let alone the courage to die or kill for it. Instinctively, we hold fast to our religious conviction against all odds. These simple scenarios follow through and is evident-how ever so casual or formal, orsimple, or diplomatic the degree of interaction when it comes to "religion."

Ever since, we see people criticize other churches in the hope to gain assurance that either religious conviction is better than the other. This attitude of the spirit is prevalent and active in every individual. The next chapter will reveal how government and religion could achieve the core requirement of unity in both mind and spirit in everyone, without having to result to any bitterness and caustic criticism. And as we discuss further, we would be able to distinguish godly virtues from flawed customs or traditions. Customs, though significant before, but unsound in today’s heightened spiritual consciousness, technological awareness, and advanced lifestyle.
